Terengganu Trip- Day 3.3: Terrapuri Heritage Village and Goodbyes

Last but not least, Terrapuri Heritage Village.

Mr. Alex, the owner and mastermind behind the conservation-heritage-village-slash-resort, started off with a quick narration of the place's history. His story is quite intriguing, as he singlehandedly gathered the houses and purchased them after investing small amounts of money, having been able to turn in huge amounts of profit due to his sharp business-oriented attitude, and his appreciation for traditional Malay houses, which drove him to great lengths to spread the love among other people.

The atmosphere at the compound is completely peaceful, calling for appreciation and unity with all elements of nature.
There is an impressive amount of attention to details both from the original design of the houses, as well as the placement of traditional wooden pieces in said houses.

Innovation does not have to come from a place of negativity, it can be derived from a passion or interest and then sought to make better, such as in the case of Mr. Alex, who achieved his dream of spreading the knowledge and history behind traditional Malay houses all across the world by attracting tourists to his heritage village.

All too soon, after getting lost in the beautiful grounds of the village for multiple hours, we had to head back on the road to UPM.
